The Twinning Project is a partnership between DC United, the Twinning Project organization, and the DC Department of Corrections. Aidan serves as a Head Coach, working directly inside the DC Jail to develop leadership and life skills with incarcerated individuals through soccer. He has held this role since September 2025.
About the Program
DC United coaches lead and inspire incarcerated individuals at the Central Detention Facility and Correctional Treatment Facility by teaching critical life skills and leadership development through soccer. The program runs in eight-week cohorts, meeting twice a week, combining classroom instruction with on-field soccer training. Each cohort concludes with a graduation ceremony where coaches and corrections officials recognize participant achievements.
Aidan’s Role
As Head Coach, Aidan goes into the DC Jail each week to lead sessions with inmates, using soccer as a tool to build leadership, teamwork, and confidence. His work inside the facility reflects his belief that soccer can reach people in every community — including those behind bars.
